Giving your way

Thanks to the generosity of people like you, we are able to fund and support the furthering the education of students at the University of Canterbury and to assist the UCRFC and its members.

Take a look at the ways to donate below. If you have any questions, please contact us.

Your year

As an Old Maroon you can contribute dollars and cents that relate to the year you started playing for the Club. For example, if you started playing in 1993 your donation is $19.93; this can be paid weekly, fortnightly or monthly. This option allows you to contribute at different levels as you move through your career — for example:

  • Leaving University and starting your career = consider monthly contributions
  • In the middle of your career = consider weekly contributions
  • Retirement = consider monthly contributions

This would be set up as automatic bank payments. The Charitable status means that donors can claim up to 33 cents in the dollar annually.

Ways to give regularly

Online through the website
Make your donation instantly using the secure online donation facility on this page. Simply select recurring donation on the form and then the frequency of payments.

For donations from outside New Zealand, please do not use the online donation facility. Please use internet banking direct into the Foundation's account.

Internet Banking (preferred option)
Set up recurring payments online with your bank into the Maroon Foundation bank account. Our bank details are: The Maroon Foundation, ANZ Bank, Merivale Branch, Account No. 01-0825-0712192-00 (please place a reference in the reference field, e.g. Donation).

Automatic payments
Set up an automatic payment facility with your bank. Download an Authority for Automatic Payment form with The Maroon Foundation's details already completed, add your own details and deliver the completed form to your bank.
Every donation counts, big or small. It’s about giving back in any way you can and inspiring others to do the same. You may feel a one-off or intermittent donation is right for you. You will receive a receipt after making a donation over $5.

Internet Banking (preferred option)
A direct deposit into The Maroon Foundation bank account. Our bank details are: The Maroon Foundation, ANZ Bank, Merivale Branch, Account No. 01-0825-0712192-00 (please place a reference in the reference field e.g. Donation).

No-interest loans

The intention is that the funds themselves will never be allocated — only interest from the funds will be used.

As a donor you will only sacrifice your interest and will be able to get the principal back at short notice if required.

Bequests

Making a bequest in your will is a simple and effective way of supporting the University of Canterbury Rugby Football Club beyond your lifetime.

Firstly, speak to your family about your plans so they understand why you are choosing to remember The Maroon Foundation in your will. We recommend that you seek professional advice and speak to your lawyer about revising your will.

MAROON FOUNDATION SOCIAL INITIATIVE

Pacific Hygiene has set up a Social Initiative to provide support for organisations such as The Maroon Foundation. The initiative is called CHeW, standing for ‘Cleaning, Hygiene & Washroom’.

Supplies can be purchased directly from CHeW for your home or organisation with a percentage going to The Maroon Foundation. This would also help UC Rugby.
