Objectives

Aims and objectives of The Maroon Foundation

The aims and objectives of the Foundation are to enhance the education for those students at Canterbury University associated with the University Rugby Club. This will be done by the provision of resources (including education in rugby skills and development), facilities, guidance, personal development, career development and, potentially, the provision of scholarships. Essentially, education in the wider sense of the whole person for their future life success. The aim is that this will create inter-generational benefit for years to come.

Who benefits?

The benefit will be to students via the University Rugby Club. It is envisaged that the Rugby Club will make annual applications to The Maroon Foundation Trustees. The level of annual grants will not exceed the interest earned on the funds in the Foundation.

I think this initiative is a fantastic educational opportunity for the students coming through. It wasn't around when I started at the club and I really wish it was.
